Dog parade lends a helping paw to local nonprofits

SantaPaws_04The 2013 Santa Paws for a Cause helped raise money for the Lamar County Humane Association and The Salvation Army.

Dogs and their owners lined up around the square and participated in a mile-long parade through downtown.

Other activities included portraits with Santa, breakfast for the owners, a “Ruff Rally Obstacle Course,” a red carpet runway, owner-pet lookalike contest, pet tricks and an adoptable dog style show.

Main Street Coordinator Cherie Bedford served as announcer and emcee for most of the events.

Other activities continue through Christmas. Be sure to check out the Holiday in Paris website for more information at www.holidayinparistexas.com.
