Adult Acting Class being offered at PCT
For the first time ever, the Paris Community Theatre will be offering an acting class just for adults (18 and over). This full-semester class will begin September 7th and run through the beginning of December.
The purpose of the class is to prepare new actors for auditioning and performing roles onstage, as well as refresh and stretch the technique of seasoned actors.
Says instructor Robyn R. Huizinga, “We will begin the semester with Uta Hagen’s “Object Exercises.” We’ll discuss character structure and development, and further explore character through monologue work. We will then explore movement through Ann Bogart’s “Viewpoints,” and caring for the actor’s body and voice.
She adds, “The semester will culminate in script analysis and scene work. The course is meant to be fun, active, engaging, challenging, and will build the actor’s toolkit of techniques and approaches to the art of acting.”
