TheatrePlazaThe Paris Community Theatre Board of Directors has recently hired two new theatre teachers.

The first is Josh Maxwell to teach the teen theatre classes. Josh has appeared in and directed many PCT productions and is also the Technical Director for PCT. Josh is a graduate of PJC where he was a theatre major and is currently pursuing a Bachelors in English at Texas A&M Commerce.

Teaching a new acting class for adults (ages 18 and over) will be Robyn Huizinga. Ms. Huizinga has a M.F.A. in Theatre Arts from Texas Tech University and is currently aM.S. She also has a B.A. in Theatre Performance from Oklahoma City University.  While at Texas Tech, in addition to performing and directing many plays, Robyn was also a graduate part-time instructor teaching a “introduction to acting” class.

The PCT board is very excited about adding an adult acting class to their program offerings. This class is for designed for beginners who have never been on stage as well as seasoned actors who want to brush up on their skills. The hope is that it will encourage new people to audition for roles in PCT productions or become backstage volunteers.

Registration for all theatre and art classes will be Saturday, September 6th from 11am-1pm at the PCT Brown Centre for Creative Arts, located at 115 Clarksville Street in downtown Paris. Theatre classes are offered for K-1st grade, 2nd-4th grade, 5th-7th grade, teen theatre (8th grade and up) and adult acting (18 and over).  Children’s art classes are also offered.  To learn more visit pctonstage.com.
