Blues on the Red Festival will feature legendary guitarists, Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King, this Saturday
Blues on the Red is something that Paris Texas has seen before. The Paris Blues Society is proud to present it again to our citizens, this time at the fair grounds and featuring legendary blues guitar players, Smokin’ Joe Kubek and Bnois King.
Joe Kubek was raised in Irving, Texas, so his Texas Blues style shows in his music, and has for over 25 years. Throughout the ’70s and ’80s, Kubek backed many legendary blues artists, as well as fronted his own band with successes. His guitar playing is aggressive and smolders with the same fire as other known greats, earning him the nickname “Smokin’ Joe”.
Bnois King is a native of Monroe, Louisiana. King’s musical influences come from a generation earlier than Kubek’s. He has mastered a smooth, jazzy guitar sound with a deep blue’s vocals. He has been considered a guitar legend for years.
