Positive Inner Strength Versus Your Circumstances

*By Ayesha Shafiq*

We all experience in life a question, “Am I in control of my life or my circumstances Influence me?”

In, Science, Philosophy and Psychology we are taught how to differentiate between inner (subjective) and outer (objective) reality. However perception coming from (our inner selves) contributed by factors in our (outer) surroundings influence us greatly. We cannot escape from it since we completely accept our own contribution in creating the world we live in. Only when we accept the fact that the world is never exactly as we see it through our individual lens of perception that we will embrace reality.

We live in an interactive Universe where each individual gives and takes. With this awareness comes responsibility that our consciousness can literally shape the world. We can make a heaven or hell on this planet. The choice is completely ours.

Our inner selves have always been the source of our greatest survival powers and our greatest achievements. We have created art and technology through it. We have the ability to overcome several calamities through it as we go through trials in our lives yet we are fearful of exploring this inner world. Though we live in it most of our lives. We constantly visit our inner world for our ideas, inspirations, accomplishments and applause as well as for critique. By having access to our inner world we grasp the ability to realize our true potential of physical, emotional and spiritual strength. It is true that Computer, Telephone, Television, Electricity, drama, art, music all started out as mind stuff and were later given physical form. Our inner self has the power to make our ideas a reality.

Ideas are like dreams. When you are dreaming, and something bad comes along, you feel if you twitch you will refuse to let the bad dream take over.  The same implies to your real world existence too. Our circumstances good or bad do not have the power to make us react in the expected manner. The choice is completely ours. We are responsible to accept or reject its effect upon us. To perceive something seriously or lightly has much to do with our inner selves and our subconscious and our power of acceptance or rejection rather than with our outer circumstances or surroundings. As they say, circumstances (outer force) rule the weak soul. The strong souls use their inner selves to turn their circumstances  (outer force) to their advantage.

In life, we are subjected to all kinds of challenges. That is how life is meant to be. Challenges are God’s way of making us better or worse depending upon how our inner selves respond to them. If mankind believes that this present earth is the only heaven, they will strive all the more to make heaven of it by the power of inner selves.

What a man really has, ……it is in him. What is outside of him should be a matter of no importance. Life is not what happens to you, it is what you do with life that happens to you. There is always more strength and creativity in our inner selves that needs to be unleashed to impact our outer life for its betterment.  In the words of Red Smith “ Dying is no accomplishment. We all do that. Living is the thing.” Living by un-tapping your limitless inner strength for a better you and influencing your circumstances positively around you for a more content, fulfilling and rewarding life!
