Chisum High School Sophomore All State Clarinetist
On Saturday, February 15, 2014, Chisum High School sophomore clarinetist Michael Edenhoffer performed with the Association of Texas Small School Bands’ All State Symphonic Band.
Edenhoffer was selected to perform following rigorous auditions at the region, area, and state level. More than 9,000 high school students from 1A, 2A, and 3A bands across the state auditioned in twenty different regions for a place in their respective all-region bands.
The top chairs in each region advanced to one of the five are auditions held this past weekend across the state, and only 290 of these 1620 students were selected for all-state honors.
In San Antonio, Michael competed against the other All State students and was selected as first chair clarinet overall. This was Michael’s second consecutive selection to the All State Band.
The All State Symphonic band was conducted by Richard Floyd, Director of Music-Emeritus for the University Interscholastic League.
Michael is the son of Dr. Peter Edenhoffer and Ildiko Edenhoffer.
