Allen Lee Jumper, 84, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at his home.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Bro. Patrick Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Jumper, the son of Victor Hugo & Minnie Lee Burnett Jumper, was born Sept. 25, 1928, in Lamar County.

He worked at B & W for seven years prior to beginning a career as a dairyman that spanned fifty years. He was a member of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Victor Amos Jumper and a sister, Elsie Jumper.

Survivors include his wife, Florice Gibson Jumper, whom he married on Sept. 28, 1949, building 63 years of family and memories, two sons, Jerron Jumper & Stacey Jumper both of Paris, grandchildren, Ronnie Jumper & wife Sharmin of Allen, Jeremy Jumper & wife Heather of Paris, Amanda Sims & husband Jamey of Paris and Leah Jumper of Paris, great grandchildren, Ryan Jumper, Nickolas Sims, Destinee Jones, Erika Sims, Ethan Sims, Robyn Cooke, Callie Jumper, Izabella Jumper & Damon Hebner along with a host of friends.

Casket bearers will be: Ronnie Jumper, Jeremy Jumper, Jamey Sims, James Boyd Gibson, Jimmy Darnell & Cleve Fendley.

Obituaries Thursday, December 13

Geral Dee Willingham, 76, of Paris, died Sunday December 9, 2012 at the residence of his son William, in Sumner. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday December 15, 2012 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home, with Rev. David Cahill officiating. Interment will follow in the West Post Oak Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Geral was born March 5, 1936 in Clarksville, a son of John Henry and Lillian Rosella Lacey Willingham. He attended Red River County schools, and was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a paint contractor for forty years, then retired from the air conditioning and refrigeration business after fifteen years, all in the Paris and Northeast Texas area.

He married Annette Marie Hudgins on October 5, 1956 in Dallas. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2012.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, William Dee Willingham, Jr. and Jimmy Ray Wilson, Jr.; a granddaughter, Carol Marie Willingham; and a brother, John Dee Willingham.

Survivors include four sons, William Dee Willingham, of Sumner, Michael Dee Willingham, of Alba, Richard Doyle Willingham, of Paris, and Geral Dee Willingham, Jr., of Hugo, Oklahoma; two daughters, Elizabeth Rosella Wilson, of Tuscon, Arizona and Lannette Rena Bruner, of Festus, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Elizabeth Carter, Barbara Cain, Martha Parris, and Lillian Sanders; a brother, Johnny Ray Willingham; a cousin, Billy Don Willingham; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Named to serve as pallbearers are Tyler Austin Vaughn, Tazz Black, Everett Carter, Robert Nichols, Robert Gilbert, and Bob Guthridge.

Leon Lewis, 76, of Paris, passed away December 11, 2012, at Paris Regional Medical Center, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.  Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, December 14, 2012, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Reverend Ken Cannon and Reverend James Barnes officiating.  Burial will be made in Providence Cemetery.  The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, from 1-2 pm, prior to the service.

Leon was born September 14, 1936, in Danville, Virginia. He was the thirteenth of fourteen children, born to John Harvey Lewis and Nellie Jane Powell Lewis.  He attended Robert E. Lee Elementary School and was a graduate of George Washington High School in Danville, VA – two schools named after patriots of Virginia.  As a small boy, he shined shoes on the streets of Danville and after losing his shoe shine box to a thief, he began sweeping floors in Giles Florist.

During high school he worked as a stocker in a sporting goods store.  As a boy he enjoyed attending both church and YMCA camps.  He attended church at the Salvation Army before he was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Danville, at around 10 years of age.  He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 – 1959, with the 29th Infantry Scout Dog Platoon at Fort Benning, GA.  He married Monta Lee Powers November 12, 1959 in Grapevine, TX, building 53 years of family and memories.

After moving to Texas he was employed by Texas Power and Light Company from 1959 – 1992.  During which time he worked on a line crew, in a storeroom, and as a meter reader, before becoming a clerk and eventually Junior Accountant in the accounting department.  He transferred to Paris in 1971 to assume the Chief Accountant position and continued in that job until his retirement.

Leon was an active member of First Baptist Church in Paris, where he sang in the choir and also led the singing in his Sunday School Department.  He was ordained a deacon in First Baptist Church in Grapevine and served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Paris.  He always led his family to attend church and and worship regularly.  Leon loved music and enjoyed singing in choirs from the age of 6.

In his retirement he developed a love and great talent for woodworking and gardening.  A true craftsman, making fine furniture, and an avid gardener, producing quality produce, both of which he enjoyed sharing with family, friends and neighbors.  He also enjoyed socializing with his friends over coffee several mornings a week.  Traveling was important to him and his family.  They enjoyed riding motorcycles at Beavers Bend as well as many trips visiting 49 states.  Leon and Monta traveled to several countries.  The last trip was to see the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents and 12 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife Monta; a son, Brad Alan Lewis and wife Colleen of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter, Penny Lewis Sansom of Powderly; two grandchildren, Shelby Sansom and Cameron Lewis; a great-granddaughter, Makenzie Lewis; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Matherly and husband Raymond of Fredericksburg, VA; one special nephew, William Burrell and wife Linda of Wilmington, NC, who he grew up with as a brother, along with numerous other nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Casket Bearers will be Bob Myers, Bob Skinner, Lewis Sheridan, Bill Arnold, George Locke and Boyce Flenniken.

Billy Mac “Bill R” Rheudasil, 74, of Paris, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Paris Regional Medical Center.

A private burial will be made Wednesday morning at Moores Spring Cemetery, with Wade White officiating,  under the direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life  will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, 12/12/12, in the Fellowship Hall of First Christian Church, 780 20th N.E.,  with Wade White moderating.  The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Bill, the son of Charles & Irene Gibson Rheudasil, was born Oct. 27, 1938,  in Sylvan. He graduated from Paris High School in 1956, and from Texas A&M University in 1960, with a degree in Animal Husbandry. He was in the  Corp of  Cadets while at Texas A&M.  To prove he was the Aggies’ ultimate  12th Man his service will be held on 12/12/12. He had  served in the National Guard.

Bill  had an entrepreneurial spirit; managing Breezeway Farms  in Plano and then becoming a building contractor for a number of years. Later he was a wholesaler for local car dealerships.

Bill was strong in his faith and was very active in his church, First Christian Church in Paris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin children, Timmy & Tammy and two brothers, Bob Rheudasil & Jerry Rheudasil.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Cain Rheudasil,  children, Carla O’Donnell & husband John of Lucas, Richard Rheudasil of Plano and Karen Barry & husband Brian of Austin, grandchildren, Morgan Philpot & husband Ryan, Jessica Rheudasil, Colin O’Donnell, Ryan Rheudasil, Duncan O’Donnell, Devin O’Donnell and Blaise Barry, great grandchildren, Ava Parker, Josslyn Philpot & Samantha Philpot, a sister, June Vest of Paris along with several nieces, nephews & a plethora of friends.

Mary Kathleen Heifrin Williams, 65, of Reno went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2012. Funeral services will be held at Mt.Olive Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 12, with Rev. Tim Reger and Gary Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt.Olive cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Tuesday 6 until 8 p.m.

She was born Jan 16, 1947 in Bryan, Texas a daughter of G. Roy and Mary Olive Garrett Heifrin. She married James D. Williams on December 30, 1967 inLancaster,Texas. She was a graduate of Wilmer Hutchins High School in 1964 and East Texas State University in Commerce with a BS in Home Economics 1968 and her Master’s Degree in 1970. Her first and only job was teaching Home Economics at North Lamar High School for 34 years from 1969 until her retirement in 2003. During this time she was involved with RRV Aggie Moms Club, Lamar County Home Economics Association, Texas State Teachers Association, Lifetime member of the 4-H Foundation, Retired Teachers Association of Texas, Prime Time, Tejas Garden Club and Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her husband of almost 45 years James David Williams; daughter Katie Ann Williams of College Station; son Jay David Williams and wife Abbie of Celina; 2 grandchildren Brody Hutson, Clara Mae, and expecting Griffin Murphy on Jan. 10, 2013; 2 brothers, Rollin Heifrin and wife Martha, Roy Heifrin and wife Kathleen; their families Frank and Misty Heifrin, Tim and Garrett Jones, Justin and Charlsie McDaniel, Jeff and Mallory Heifrin along with great nieces and nephews, Jake, Levi, Ansley, Jency, Jackson, Heidi, and Coleman. Kathleen was better known as “Mother” to Katie, Jay and Abbie; “Gram mom” to Brody and Clara, “Sister” to Rollin, Roy, Martha and Kathleen and “Aunt Sister” to Frank, Jeff, Garrett, Charlsie and their spouses and children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all.

Cora Jane Wogberg, 72, of Paris, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012, at Dubuis Hospital.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.

The family has scheduled memorial services for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12th at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Moore officiating.

Mrs. Wogberg, the daughter of Bryice Gilbert & Virginia Coplin Sherwood, was born Oct. 7, 1940, in Paris.

She worked as a baker in the cafeteria of Paris Junior College and later in the bakery at Wal-Mart. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was a Girl Scout leader for twelve years.

Her parents and a sister, Judy Partridge, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Donald, whom she married on November 9, 1970, building forty-two years of family and memories, one daughter, Tonya Wogberg of Frisco, son-in-law, Ronnie Jacobson of Frisco,  a niece, Melissa Partridge Mastin of Dallas and a nephew, Greg Partridge of Hallsville along with several great nieces & great nephews.

Donna Lynn Biggers, 54, of Novice passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family.  Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Long Cemetery, with Pastor Peter Gray officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm, Monday, December 10, 2012 at the funeral home.

Lance Allen Houston, 14, of El Dorado, Arkansas, died Friday, December 7, 2012 at his home.  Funeral services are set for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Bro. J.D. Weido officiating.  Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.  Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Lance was born January 24, 1998 in Paris to Gary Wayne and Tammara Dawn Watson Houston.  He was a freshman at El DoradoHigh Schooland enjoyed football, track, hunting and fishing.  Lance was very involved with the El Dorado Army ROTC program and had ambitions of making the military his career.  He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in El Dorado.

He is survived by his parents, Gary and Tammara Houston of El Dorado; his sister, Natalie Dawn Houson; grandparents, Billy and Vicky Houston and Louise Dollins, all of Paris; great-grandparents, Betty Houston and Amelia Harris; aunts, Christy Foster, Kelli Norlin, and Michele Manzow; an uncle, Matthew Watson; and numerous extended family and friends.  He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Ira Lee Dollins and his great-grandfather, Arthur Dee Houston.

Victor Norris Abeles, 67, of Paris, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 at his residence.  Funeral services are set for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Norris and Neil Abeles officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Victor was born April 24, 1945, the youngest of four sons born to Edward Abeles and Christine Sharp Abeles.  He attended Graham Elementary School, Paris High School and graduated from East Texas State University.  He was retired from Campbell Soup Company having worked there for 40 years and was currently employed part time with HWH Construction.  Victor was an avid pilot, flying was his passion.  Not only a pilot, he held an Inspection Authorization (IA) rating qualifying him to perform mechanical and frame inspections of general aviation aircraft.  He also loved to fly radio controlled planes and had served as President of the local R.C. Club.  Victor had a soft spot in his heart for animals, often taking in strays or adopting others from the shelter.  He was also a sports official, having officiated High School basketball and football for over 25 years.  On November 12, 2011, he married his college sweetheart, Vickie Worley Swain.  They had recently celebrated their one year anniversary.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife, Vickie; a stepson, Zach Swain and wife, Melanie; sister-in-law, Rene’ Dendy; mother-in-law, Karon Worley; grandchildren, Will Swain and Jordan Bell; brothers, Dan, Ned and Neil Abeles; and many nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Bill Madding, Johnny Parker, Donnie Dickerson, Ray Whitman, Rick Rushin and Eric Clifford.  Honorary pallbearers are Zach Swain, Joe Farmer, Robert High, Dave Cook and Chip Harper.

James H. Stewart, 86, of Paris, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Heritage House.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11th, at Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Rev. Bill Dickey officiating.

Mr. Stewart, the son of Claude & Verna Stewart, was born July 15, 1926, in Lamar County.

He served in the U. S. Navy from May 10, 1944 – June 27, 1946 during World War II, and then from Jan. of 1951 – April of 1952 during the Korean Conflict.

He worked many years in the grocery industry; at Humpty Dumpty in Oklahoma City, at Wriggly in Garland and at Affiliated in Dallas.

On Feb. 4, 1947, he married June Bunn, building sixty years together before her death on Aug. 27, 2007.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jimmy Stewart.

Survivors include three brothers, Billy Stewart & wife Melania of Washington, Joe Stewart of Tyler and Grady Stewart & wife Martha of Florida, a nephew, Kevin Stewart along with three nieces, Francis Stewart, Erica Stewart and Nicole Stewart.

ARDIE NEIL BARNES

To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.  II Corinthians 5:8  The earthly journey  of Ardie Neil Barnes ended December 7, 2012.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, in the chapel of Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Barnes officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

The blessing of his life began March 9, 1936 when he was born to William Ivy and Josephine Slagle Barnes in Bonham, TX.  He married Glenda Mae Young on October 30, 1956.  Three beloved children were born to this union: Denise, Neil , and Chad.  His children provided him with more joy in the form of grandchildren, Aaron, Kara, Erica, Joshua, Kristen, Blake, Hunter, Jenna, and Elizabeth.

On May 22, 1992, Ardie married Shirley Metts  and inherited two loving, beautiful daughters, Melissa Boothe and Monica Raulston and more special grandchildren, Alicia, Branden and Carlen.

Ardie moved to Paris, TX in 1948 and graduated from Paris High School in 1954 after which he spent time in the Naval Reserve.  He went to work for Curtis Mathes in 1959 in Dallas and later in Athens, TX.  He was transferred to Puerto Rico in 1965 as Production Manager and promoted to Plant Manager in 1968.  In 1970, Ardie and family returned to Paris where he opened Barnes TV Service in 1970 and was self employed until his retirement in 2008.

Ardie was a past member of the Hugo Country Club, Clarksville Country Club, Elks Lodge, and the Optimist Club.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, spending time with grandkids, eating out with family and friends and solving crossword puzzles.  Ardie had great pride for his family and was well respected throughout the Barnes family who will greatly miss his sense of humor, gentle ways, loyalty, generosity and forgiving nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill Barnes and sister Mary Friday.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley, children, Denise Colville, Neil Barnes and wife Jan, Chad Barnes and wife Jennifer, Melissa Boothe and Monica Raulston and husband Steve. Surviving grandchildren are Aaron Barnes (Erin), Kara Calhoun, Erica Grace (Jarrott), Joshua Barnes (Erica), Kristen Holcombe (Michael), Blake Barnes, Hunter Colville, Jenna Barnes, Elizabeth Barnes, Alicia Thompson, Branden Carrasco (Damien) and Carlen Thompson.  Great grandchildren are Keaton, Rory, Ember, Bricen, Charlee, Brittan, Presley and Cohen.  Surviving siblings include Grover Barnes, Carolyn Smith (Michael), and Joe Barnes (Dianne) as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends to cherish his memory.
