Albert Lee Boren, 91, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11th, at Red Oak Cemetery with Rev. Buddy Barnett officiating. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home. No formal visitation is scheduled.
Mr. Boren, the son of John H. & Bertha Baxley Boren, was born June 16, 1921, in Blossom.
He worked for Pipeline Services in Longview prior to his retirement in 1969.
Survivors include his wife, Earlene Wright Boren, whom he married on Dec. 14, 1946, building sixty-six years of family & memories, a daughter, Sandra Leverton & husband Mike of Sanger, three sisters, Lorene Carter of Sumner, Mary Louise Boren of Paris and Mildred Dewese of Paris, brother-in-law & sisters-in-law, James & Wanda Wright of Paris and Joyce Wright of Rockwall along with several nieces & nephews.

Ricky Duane Jordan, 65 of Paris, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday, May 10, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Don Morton officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Aikman, Angela Wyatt; grandchildren, Rachel Worthey, Jordan Aikman, Ally Aikman, Austin Wyatt and Tyler Wyatt; sister, Linda Jordan Hancock; brother, Hardee Mills and wife Sharon; nieces and nephews, Brian Christian and wife Brenda and their children, Justin Christian and Michael Davis, Jessica Christian and her children, Jacob Christian, Dylan Armstrong and Miranda Wooten, Kelli Funk and husband Robert and their children, Benjamin and Owen Funk, nephew, Robert Mills.

Imogene Bratcher Tomblin, 87, of Paris, passed away Monday, May 06, 2013, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tomblin, the daughter of John & Arra Trapp Bratcher, was born Jan. 30, 1926, in Lamar County.
She married Marion Adrain Tomblin on Nov. 5, 1948, building fifty-nine years of family and memories before his death on Dec. 5, 2007.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and an avid cook. Her career as an aid with the North Lamar ISD at the Cecil Everett Elementary campus spanned twenty years before her retirement in 1989.
On Wednesday afternoons her camping friends always came to her house to play Canasta.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, Dovie Dell Byas and four brothers, William “Bill” Bratcher, Ollie “Red” Bratcher, Leonard Bratcher and Haskell Bratcher.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Marshall & husband Kenneth of Hopewell, granddaughter, Kelli Mallicote & husband Grant of Tigertown, sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law: Jeanie Bratcher, Wayne & Ann Tomblin, Faye Caviness, Thomas & Rita Tomblin, Madge Tomblin and Herschel Blankenship along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Larry Bratcher, Richard Bratcher, Gerald Wayne Byas & David Issac Power.
Lavelle Powell, 91 of Paris, passed away Friday, May 03, 2013 in Rockwall, Texas.A graveside service has been set for Monday, May 6, 2013 at Evergreen Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Terry Rogers officiating. No formal visitation is scheduled. A reception for friends and family will be held Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Lavelle’s home.
She was born in Delight, Arkansas on July 19, 1921 to B.L. and Ola Woolard May. She married the love of her life, Charles Powell, on August 3, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas. They enjoyed sixty years full of dancing and love together. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Paris and was active in many organizations throughout her life including; the Ciara Study Club, Bridge Club, Business and Professional Women, and others. She was always a caregiver for others, which resulted in a career for her not only as a full-time mother but also as a Nursing Home Administrator for twenty years. She had a love for reading and was never seen without a book in her hand. She also had an immense love for sports and game shows and will always be remembered during every Nascar race and each evening at 6:30 PM when Wheel of Fortune comes on. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends for all the joy she brought, and the joy her memory will continue to bring to them.
She is survived by her children, Ronnie Powell and wife Dorothy, Rick Powell and wife Glenda, Randy Powell and wife Amy, Roger Powell and wife Vickie, Barbara Young, Donie Hussey and husband Bert, and Betty McGee, whom she raised as her own. Grandchildren, Rickie Powell, Robin Resindez, Dana Morales, Joe Lewis, Ricky Powell, Rhett Powell, Renee Moree, Chad Powell, Brian Powell, Rashawnda Kelly, Monica Hevron, Kim Card, Elle Hussey; along with 22 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, special friends Sherrie and Jimmy Smith, several nieces and nephews, and her Scooter dog. She and her family would also like to send special thanks to her caregiver, Sheila Colpitts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Powell; parents, B.L and Ola May; sisters, Geraldine Peel and Irene Womble; brother, John May; and son-in-law Mike Young.
Richard Ned Byrd, of Paris, Texas died suddenly Thursday, May 2, 2013.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 5, from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home in Paris, Texas. There will also be visitation Monday, May 6, at 1:00 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter –Day Saints in Paris, with the funeral to follow at 2:00 P.M. Following the funeral the burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
He was born on December 19, 1942 in Palestine, Texas to Rudolph Lynn and Harvey Sue Byrd. Richard was active in his church and a retired teacher from North Lamar High School where he taught History and Government for over twenty years. His greatest loves were playing the piano and spending time with his wife and grandchildren by attending various activities with them.
He is survived by his loving wife Gail, daughter Katie Byrd Gipson and brother Ron Byrd . He is also survived by grandchildren Lauren , Joe , Jack, Zachary and Abigail Gipson. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Randy Byrd.

Louise Elizabeth McKee, 102, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Hinton Home in Farmersville.
Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Glynn Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. McKee was born July 19, 1910, in Honey Grove. She married Howard Ambrose McKee, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 1986.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Survivors include nephews & nieces, Dustin & Paula McCreight of Princeton, Derek & April McCreight of Red Oak and Kent McCreight of Houston.
