Karaoke Night Fundraiser for PCT at The Depot

Come out this Saturday night to The Depot for Karaoke Night.  Tickets are just $15 and all proceeds go to help the Paris Community Theatre put a new roof on the PCT Brown Centre for the Creative Arts.  The Brown Centre, located on Clarksville Street downtown is home to all of the PCT children’s programming which is also the economic lifeblood of our Community Theatre.  Even if you can’t come out Saturday for a fun night, buy a ticket to support the Paris Community Theatre to keep culture and programs here in our community.

Registration will be in Lewis Hall, Paris Regional Medical Center, 865 DeShong Drive. Participants should bring a resume and nursing license with them.

Defensive Handgun Training Class

Down Range Firearms Training – Hosted by The Armory Room – May 17-18, 2014

1 Day Defensive Handgun Class

Cost: $200

(Additional 20% discount for Active & Retired Military, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, EMS, and School teachers)

Requirements: Defensive Pistol, 3 – 5 magazines, 500 – 600 rounds of ammo, sturdy holster and magazine pouch, proper attitude.

This class is an intuitive shooting program designed to help the shooter become more efficient in the context of a dynamic critical incident. This program will help the shooter understand how their bodies will react naturally under a high stress, counter ambush situation and how to work best with what their body’s natural reactions will be. This is a class for all shooters of ALL skill levels and is regarded as one of the highest level integrity courses within the firearms industry.

This course is one full day (8 hours) of intense training, teaching and practice. The course will cover the following topics:

Fundamentals of Defensive Shooting & Intuitive Skill Development 

Combat Accuracy 

Lateral Motion 

The Balance of Speed & Precision 

The Critical Incident Reload 

Volume of Fire 

Realistic Training for Multiple Target Engagement 

Understanding the Body’s Natural Reactions during a Dynamic Critical Incident

2 Day Defensive Handgun Class

Cost: $325

This course is two full days (16 hours) of intense training, teaching and practice. The course will cover the following topics:

One Handed & Weak Handed Shooting

This class is based on years of constantly evolving information about how the body works and what really happens during Dynamic Critical Incidents and has been heavily influenced by the diverse group of instructors that are certified to teach it and the thousands of students who have been through courses all around the world. The program features a variety of specialty drills and training methods that the student will be able to utilize in their own practice after the course in order to continue to develop their abilities. This class is perfect for beginners as well as experienced shooters.

April Girls Time Out at Red Roof Spa on April 24th

Paris Regional Medical Center presents “Girls Time Out” for April.  This month Girls Time Out will be held at the Red Roof Spa located at 3051 Lamar Avenue on Thursday April 24th at 5:30pm. Refreshments will be provided along with a free skin cancer screening and a tour of the Red Roof Spa.  The feature speakers will be the father/daughter team of Shika Prakash who created Operation Save Your Skin, and Chris Prakash of the Paris Regional Cancer Center.
