Paris Junior College’s Dragons sports programs will hold camps again this summer for youngsters interested in men’s and women’s basketball, women’s softball and women’s volleyball.
“This is an opportunity interested for young people to take advantage of our coaching expertise,” said PJC Athletic Director Sean LeBeauf. “They will have a great time while staying busy learning and developing fundamentals at PJC’s sports camps.”
Lady Dragon Softball Camps June 4-5, June 7-8
Softball Camps will feature sessions for girls ages 8-18 and will
run from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Campers will be grouped by age and ability to
learn. Coach Brent Shaw, Assistant Coach Chelsey Jordan and Jack Butler will
offer intense individual instruction on all fundamentals of softball
including the mechanics of hitting; fielding, throwing, sliding, and base
running.
Camp fee is $60. Those registering prior to opening day will receive
a camp T-shirt. Each camper should bring a glove, bat, and cleats
(preferred – but tennis shoes will be allowed).

Lady Dragon Basketball Camps, June 4-7
Lady Dragon Basketball Camp is for girls entering 6th-11 grade this
year. Camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Check-in time is Monday
from 8-8:30 a.m.
Camp fee is $50. A $20 deposit must accompany each registration form
with balance due at check in. Each camper needs to dress in tennis shoes,
socks, shorts and t-shirt. Campers registering prior to opening day will

Coach Sean LeBeauf and Lady Dragon players will be on hand to teach
the fundamentals of defense, dribbling, passing and shooting.
The camp schedule includes stretching/footwork, station drills,
daily contests and team games.

Dragon All-American Basketball Camp, June 11-15
Dragon All-American Basketball Camp is for boys who were in
kindergarten through 9th grade this past year. Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3
p.m., Monday through Thursday with Friday’s session from 9 a.m. to noon.
Campers are provided lunch Monday through Thursday. Each camper needs to
dress in tennis shoes, socks, shorts and t-shirt.
Camp fee is $120. A $50 deposit must accompany each registration
form with balance due during check-in. Campers registering prior to opening
day will receive a camp t-shirt and regulation basketball.
Head Coach Chuck Taylor and Assistant Coach Corey Barker will offer
instruction in stretching and agility; station drills, daily contests, team
games, and league games with daily contests and daily awards and viewing of
film with lecture for honing playing skills.

Volleyball Camps, June 18-21, June 25-28
The Dragon Volleyball Camp for girls 4th-8th grade will be held from
9 a.m. to noon, June 18-21. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. on June 18.
Head Coach Justin Maness and Assistant Coach Amber Jay will lead the camps.
Campers should dress in tennis shoes, socks, shorts and t-shirt.Campers who
register before the first day of camp will receive a camp t-shirt. Camp fee
is $70. Skills stressed in this camp will include court communication;
passing basics, setting basics, serving, attacking footwork and arm swing;
blocking, understanding match rotation and match play.
The camp for girls 9th-12th grade will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Check-in is at 8 a.m. on June 25. Campers who register prior to check-in
will receive a camp t-shirt. Camp fee is $90 which includes lunch. Game
skills covered will include, volleyball communication; passing fundamentals;
setting fundamentals; attacking footwork; attacking (standard and quick);
blocking (communication, single, double); serving (spots and different types
of serves); defense (rotational and perimeter); offense (quick, combos,
tandems); volleyball conditioning exercises; and match play.

North Lamar Independent School District will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Breakfast and lunch will be served at Aaron Parker Elementary located at 98 CR 44112 in Powderly and at Bailey Intermediate at 3201 Lewis Lane in Paris. Meal will be served Monday thru Thursday beginning June 1st and ending June 30th.
Breakfast will run from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Adults may eat breakfast for $2.50 and lunch for $4.00. North Lamar employees will be charged $2.00 for breakfast and $3.50 for lunch.

Workforce Education
Coaching: A Leadership Skill will meet from 6:30-8:30 p.m., each
Tuesday, June 5-26. This workshop will help participants understand how
effective coaching can benefit both the individual and an organization.
A Professional Supervisor workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to
