Chisum Middle School students traveled to Princeton Texas on Saturday, January 28 to participate in the UIL One Act Play. They performed The Tale that Wagged the Dog by Tim Kelley. Cast members included Jacob Lawson, Megan Sanders, Kayla Freelen, Jessica Perez, Lauren Thompson. Crew members were Will Freelen and Eden Resendiz. The play was directed by Mrs. Pam Tribble and Mrs. Angie Sanders. They did an outstanding job and brought home several medals. Those receiving medals were:

For the last 14 years, Chisum Middle School has flown the UIL Champion banner with pride. And this year marks the 15th year in a row. Eighth grader, Zakary Moore hands the banner up to Don Russell so it can be hung for all to see.
The seventh grade girls “A” team ended their season with the title of Co-district Champions this year in basketball. Their record for the year was 11-1. These young ladies worked hard all season and improved their skills and teamwork. The teams includes: Brittany Gandy, Lettie Swaim, Marloes Tillema, Zyirrah Norris, Gabi Harwell, Addi Burns, Kynzi Hall, and Kennedy Alton. Congratulations Ladies!!!
On Thursday, January 19, Chisum held their annual spelling bee. Eighteen students (sixth through eighth grades) participated. After six rounds and fifty words, Maggie Chadwick (7th grade) and Brycen Chadwick (6th grade) won co-champions of the school and will advance to the Lamar County Bee on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Congratulations, Students.
Chisum Middle School students, Will Freelen and Corbin Russell, presented Chisum School Board members with a framed picture of CMS students acknowledging the school board’s support. Chisum Middle School recently won their UIL competition for the 15th consecutive year. Support from our school board members helped to make this possible.
