Paris police respond to 220 calls, 22 arrests over weekend

Paris Police SUV-2Over the weekend, Paris Police responded to 220 calls, resulting in 22 arrests.

Curtis Garrett, police department spokesman, said police investigated five assaults, four reports of property theft, three reports of fraud or identity theft, one forgery, one burglary of a residence, and one criminal trespass.

Among the arrests were 14 for Class C misdemeanors, 3 for theft, 2 for possession of marijuana, 2 for possession of a controlled substance, and 1 for a probation violation.

Paris police investigate shots fired into vehicle on Northwest 13th

Police Department Car_sliderParis police officers are investigating shots fired Thursday afternoon in the 400 block of Northwest 13th Street.

When officers responded about 1:45 p.m., they found a vehicle with two bullet holes on the driver’s side, police department spokesman Curtis Garrett said.

“A further search revealed two spent 9mm shell casings lying in the road. There is no suspect or motive at this time,” Garrett said.

He said Paris police officers responded to 113 calls on Thursday, resulting in the arrests of six individuals.
