Paris Junior College is holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of its new 42,000 square foot Math and Science Building in the foyer at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 10. After the ribbon-cutting, the public is welcome to walk through during an Open House until 6:00 p.m. to view the new classrooms and labs.
“We invite everyone to come tour our new facility,” said PJC President Dr. Pamela Anglin. “The college really needed a new classroom building. This building will provide additional classroom space and modern science labs to replace outdated labs and will serve PJC well for many, many years to come. We are so proud of the new building and want the community to visit our campus and tour the building.”
Surrounded by trees, the new building blends with the older buildings on campus and sports a new parking lot in front. With partitions open, one flexible classroom can seat up to 120, and other classrooms can seat from 30 to 60 students. In addition to science labs with shared prep rooms, there is a math center, space for faculty and common space allowing students to relax, gather, and study. An enclosed deck provides a close-up look at the trees and a sweeping view to the southeast.
