Paris Independent School District has announced it will immediately begin a search to replace the top leaders at Paris High School.  Gary Preston, who has served as principal for over a decade will take the place of administrator Suzanne Patty who is retiring this year.  Preston will be the director of secondary education.  The assistant principal at Paris High, Brock Blassingame will also be leaving Paris High to become the principal at Crockett Intermediate School.

Gary Preston is a 1989 graduate of Paris High. He received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M College Station in 1993. In 2000, he received a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M Commerce.

In 1993, Mr. Preston started his career as a Crockett Middle School science teacher before moving to Travis Junior High. He served as Paris High School assistant principal for three years before being named principal in 2004. Mr. Preston and his wife Brandy have two sons, Walker and Reed.

Other personnel changes include Denise Kornegay who will replace Federal Programs director Deann Lee who accepted a position with the Millsap School District. According to Jones, “She is a strong person for the job because of her experience as supervisor of the department for the past 5 years.”  Her 29 years of experience in public education also include 14 years as librarian and 10 years as a classroom teacher.  She is married to Chris Kornegay who recently retired from Paris ISD as a band director.

Aikin Elementary School Assistant Principal Sabrina Rosson accepted a position with the Wyndham School District. The school board recently approved a committee recommendation to hire Aikin teacher Kimberly Donnan for that position.  Donnan has three years of administrative experience in Mesquite ISD and has taught for five years.  She is married to Chris Donnan and they have one daughter, Emma, who is two years old and they are expecting another daughter.

Dr. Angela Chadwick has been named Career and Technical Education Director for Paris ISD.  Chadwick’s background and expertise will be required for this position as the district meets the demands of House Bill 5.  Chadwick has 12 years of administrative experience in the district and has 17 years of teaching experience.  She and her husband, James, have two grown sons, Brandon and Blake.  Paris High School assistant principal and CTE Director Brock Blassingame will replace Dr. Chadwick at Crockett Intermediate School.  Blassingame has seven years of administrative experience and seven years of teaching and coaching experience.  He and his wife, Tiffany, have a seven year old daughter, Anna Grace, and a two year old son, Baron.
