PISD Expected to Name Finalist Today

PaulTrullParis Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet today at 12:30 at the Elaine Ballard Administrative Building in private session to hash out final issues before hopefully coming to agreement on both a lone finalist for the Superintendent position as well as naming an interim Superintendent. The announcement(s) will be made in open session after the trustees have candid discussion.

School Board members have recently been on site visits to see candidates seeking the position in their current settings. The Board has been working extensively since the beginning of the year going through the selection process to narrow down a candidate to take over the heavily indebted district with the retirement of Paul Trull. It was widely believed that Trull would finish out the year with the district giving the Board and the new Superintendent time for a smooth transition; however, Trull recently announced that he would be leaving at the end of the month necessitating the naming of a fill-in through the end of this school year.
