The Paris ISD school board was scheduled to name the new superintendent Monday, but that announcement will likely have to wait.
George Fisher
We’re probably going to push it back,” board President George Fisher said. “One of the candidates we wanted to vet, we had a scheduling issue – and it was on our end, really. We were supposed to have met yesterday, so we’ll have to reschedule for one day next week. That’s something we’re going to discuss Monday night.”
The Paris Independent School District board is set to meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Elaine Ballard Administration Office. The agenda includes a discussion of superintendent applicants, as well as contracts for administrators and administrative support personnel. The full agenda can be found here.
Scheduling conflicts lead to a delay in a site visit to check out a candidate. Several trustees have school-age children, Fisher said, noting that “we try not to put anyone in a bind.”
In all, the selection process has gone very well, Fisher said. It was easy to follow and stay on schedule, even with so many people involved.
“The candidates have been good,” he said. “We’re not quite there yet. We’re letting the process play out.”
