North Lamar middle schoolers place at Regional Science Fair

image007Twelve students out of 220 6th, 7th and 8th graders placed at the Stone Middle School science fair and advanced to the region competition.  Placing at region and pictured left (top picture) are Tyler Biard – 8th grade (left), Mark Howell – 6th grade (center), and 7th grader Bailey Fowler (right).

Biard’s project “Which Type of Wood is Hardest?” placed third, Howell’s experiment “Basil Grows Best in Miracle Gro” placed second, and Fowler’s “To Swim or Not to Swim” placed third.

Placing in the school competition beginning front row left (bottom picture) are Howell, Luke Fowler – 7th grade (Who’s Line is it Anyway?), B. Fowler, Isaac Hall – 6th grade (A Cool Drink), and Jacey Lilley – 6th grade (What Makes Concrete Strong).  Beginning back left are: Christopher Sheppard – 7th grade (Proving Huzitas Axioms with Origami), Johnathan Folse 8th grade (Mouse Maze), Ty Rast – 8th grade (The Jolly Photometer), Biard, Summer Andrews – 7th grade (Sweet Acid), and Rebekah Reed – 8th grade (Does Sugar Shrivel a Rubberized Egg?).  Not shown is 6th grader Jayden Franklyn (Mucinex vs. Dayquil).
