The Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots Program recently recognized Stone Middle School 7th and 8th grade cheerleaders for their outstanding support by presenting the group with the Special Commander’s Award at a recent pep rally.

During the holiday season, the cheerleaders helped raise money and distributed over 6,000 toys to less fortunate families in Lamar County.  The Commander’s Award for Public Service is the fourth highest honor the United States Department of the Army can bestow upon a civilian, ranking directly below the Outstanding Civilian Service Award.
