North Lamar ISD third graders, T. J. Norlin and Jason Peregrina, piece together scrambled symbols for words or phrases in the Pledge of Allegiance while completing their classroom’s “Celebrate Freedom” activities. This particular activity taught the students what the pledge to the American flag means.
“It (the lesson) was a neat activity and very effective for teaching them what they were actually saying every morning when they say the pledge,” said their teacher Lara Fendley at Cecil Everett Elementary.
