Paris, TX, February 23, 2012 – The Rotary Club of Paris visited all third graders in Lamar County and handed out dictionaries to each in support of Rotary International’s goal of universal literacy for all.

Rotary volunteers, Louise Taylor, Dr. Pam Anglin and Jane Helberg visited Aaron Parker and Cecil Everett Elementaries in North Lamar ISD to distribute the dictionaries.  Students were asked to print their names in their books.  A brief lesson on how to use the book was given, and students were asked to find the longest word printed in the back of their books.

Labels printed with Rotary International were placed inside on the first page as was a card with “Your Friends in the Rotary Club of Paris, Texas”.  Approximately 230 third graders at North Lamar ISD received dictionaries.
