Enrollment for the Lamar County Spelling Bee is currently open for all public, private, charter, and home school students in grades 4-8 in the county. Each school must register at the national website by October 15, 2012. In this competition, a home school is considered a school and must register at the national level. All public schools select a campus champion or co-champions to represent the campus at the county bee.
Enrollment information is available at the Scripps National Website, www.spellingbee.com until the deadline. The fee at the national level covers all study materials and enrollment for the county competition. Each school receives unlimited online access to all of the Scripps’ study materials.
The Lamar County champion advances to The Dallas Morning News Regional Spelling Bee in March. The champion of the Regional Bee advances to the National Bee and receives an all-expense paid trip for three to the competition in Washington, D.C. in May 2013.
