The National All-Stars team from Paris was eliminated Tuesday from the Dixie Youth World Series in Lexington, South Carolina, after they suffered a 9-4 loss to North Carolina.

After North Carolina started with an early, first inning lead, Paris tried to battle back, but fell unsuccessful in making up the five run difference.

In the double-elimination tournament, Paris lost their first game to Virginia by a large deficit of 18-7, however won their second game in ‘come from behind’ fashion after being down in the 6th inning 4-3. Paris tied it up in the last inning, and a Larkins’  2-run walk-off home run sealed the victory at 6-4, Coach Cade Stone told eParisExtra.

They also defeated Tennessee on Monday, which led up to the Tuesday game against South Carolina where, despite a weather delay and a tried effort, they ultimately lost.

Although the loss eliminated them from the World Series, the Paris National All-Stars remain the youngest team from Paris to win the Texas state title.

They represented Paris and Texas well, and we should all be proud of the accomplishments of these young guys.
