Paris Regional Medical Center has a new chief executive officer — Stephen J. Grubbs, 47, who comes to the hospital from Jackson, Tenn., where he is now the CEO of the 152-bed Regional Hospital of Jackson.
The announcement was made today by RegionalCare Hospital Partners.
Grubbs’ first day at PRMC is expected to be April 8 or sooner.
“We are very pleased to have Steve join us as CEO at Paris Regional Medical Center,” said Chad Patrick, division president for RegionalCare Hospital Partners.
“He has all the right skills and experience to lead PRMC into their very exciting future. He has had great success in the areas of physician recruiting, employee and patient satisfaction, and a strong commitment to quality care,” Patrick said.
Grubbs said he and his family ”are very excited” to be coming to Paris.
“Paris is a great community, and we know this is a great place to make a home for our family. I look forward to working with the medical staff, the hospital board, and the employees as we move forward, making sure this region has the hospital they deserve,” he said.
While at the Regional Hospital of Jackson, Grubbs recruited more than 20 physicians and saw the hospital grow by 60 percent.
Before assuming the role of CEO there in 2008, Grubbs was the CEO of Berwick Hospital Center in Berwick, Pa., where he increased hospital volume and physician recruitment. Grubbs recruited 20 new physicians to the Berwick medical staff, while adding new services in the areas of vascular surgery, endocrinology, and pain management.
Grubbs has more than 24 years of health care experience including 16 years in the role of chief financial officer. He also maintains a list of professional credentials as a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Mid-South Healthcare Executives and the West Tennessee Physicians Leadership Group as a CEO Representative.
Grubbs currently serves on the board of organizations such as United Way, YouthTown, the Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center, the Solus Foundation and the Jackson Downtown Development Corporation.
He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in business administration from Bethel University.
Grubbs and his wife, Cissy, have two daughters — Heidi, 27, and Rebekah, 19.
RegionalCare Hospital Partners was founded in 2009. It partners with regionally focused community hospitals in non-urban markets around the nation.
