At about 11:49 P. M. on October 26, 2013, Paris Police responded to a report of an accident in about the 500 block of NW Loop 286. Paris Police spoke with a victim who was driving one of the vehicles involved in the accident. The victim stated that he observed two vehicles approaching from the rear at a very high rate of speed that appeared to be racing. The victim’s vehicle was struck by one of the vehicles as they attempted to pass the victim. The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene on foot. Officers investigating the incident were later approached by the second vehicle involved in the racing. Through the investigation, the drivers of the vehicles were identified. The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident, 18 year old Nathaniel Rosson of Paris, was later arrested on an outstanding Municipal Court warrant. The incident of the racing is under investigation.
Over the past 72 hours, Paris Police arrested 14 persons, while responding to 270 calls for service. All but 2 of the arrested persons were arrested on class c misdemeanor charges. The two were charged with theft over $50 when they were observed shoplifting.
