A narcotic investigation by the Lamar County sheriff’s department resulted in a raid Friday, Oct. 18, on a residence in the Cunningham community.
Sheriff deputies served a search warrant at the residence of Jimmie Dewayne Northcutt in southern Lamar County.
Deputies recovered an amount of suspected methamphetamine, along with items used to package and weight narcotics.
Drug paraphernalia including digital scales, zip lock baggies, and glass smoking pipes were found and seized. Deputies also recovered a large amount of cash believed to be profits from drug sales.
Northcutt was arrested and booked into the Lamar County Jail on charges of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance (Penalty Group 1), more than 1 gram but less than 4 grams — a felony.
Northcutt also had an outstanding warrant of arrest for delivery of a controlled substance (Penalty Group 1) more than 1 gram, less than 4 grams.
Northcutt was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Gene Hobbs, who set bond at $30,000.
