Paris police responded about 8 a.m. Friday to the residence in the 400 block of Southeast Sixth Street. The man told officers the man, who was unknown to him, threatened to shoot him and demanded to know where he kept his money.
Police department spokesman Curtis Garrett said the resident told police that during a struggle the man hit him several times with the gun, then left on foot with a “large sum of money.”
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and was later released, Garrett said. The incident is under investigation.
