The Paris Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from a female caller around 11:23 p.m. Wednesday to report someone bleeding, according to Paris Police Chief Bob Hundley.
“Paris Fire, EMS and police responded to the scene and upon arrival found four individuals deceased in a residence at 435 NE 6th Street,” Hundley said.
All four individuals were found in a front room of the house. Each victim looked to have apparent gunshot wounds, and autopsies were ordered by Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Gene Hobbs.
According to officials, investigation revealed there were two other men in the house at some point during the evening.
“Investigators have interviewed one of the men, and the other man was arrested on unrelated charges,” Hundley said. “The department has not identified any witnesses to the shooting.”
The deceased have been identified and next of kin notified. They are:
Romello Dewain Steward, 18, of Paris
Devante Laray Akins, 21, of Paris

“Paris police investigators and Texas Ranger Stacey McNeal have been processing the very complex crime scene all night, clearing the scene at 8:05 this morning,” Hundley said. “From the preliminary investigation, any form of a murder/suicide has been ruled out. The investigation is ongoing.”
