Byron Anthony McCuin, 24, of 212 W. Brame St., and Curtney Ray Smith, 23, of 656 County Road 47400, Detroit, were taken into custody late Friday night, department spokesman Curtis Garrett said.
Officers said the driver could not produce a valid driver’s license and the passenger in the front seat was found to be holding an open alcoholic beverage.
“Officers observed a baggie behind the passenger seat that was found to be cocaine,” Garrett said.
The two were taken to the Lamar County Jail.
Bond was set at a total of $57,500 for McCuin on three charges — $45,000 for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance (more than 1 gram, less than 4 grams); $10,000 for manufacture of a controlled substance (less than 28 grams); and $2,500 for possession of marijuana (more than 2 ounces, less than 4 ounces).
The same bond was set for Smith, plus the added charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon, for which bond was set at $2,500, for a total of $60,000 bond on four charges.
