Several more burglaries & thefts reported; Paris PD Press Release – February 25, 2013

On February 24th, officers responded to Walmart, where it was reported that two persons were observed taking numerous items from the business without paying for them. The suspects were seen entering a vehicle and leaving the area. A tag number was given to officers and the vehicle was later located, however only one suspect was arrested. Part of the property was recovered.

PoliceFurther investigation led to the arrest of the second suspect. Arrested were 36-year-old, Ricky Terron Washington, and 22-year-old, Denzel Breonn Harrison, both of Paris.

Each were charged with felony organized retail theft. Harrison was also charged with resisting arrest and failure to identify, when he gave a wrong name at the time of his arrest. Investigation into the event continues.

On February 23rd, police received a report of a burglary of a residence, occurring in the 500 block of NW 3rd Street. The victim advised that they had placed some personal property into a rented apartment, but had not been staying there due to the utilities not being on. When the apartment was checked on earlier this date, the victim found that numerous items were missing. Officers observed that there had been no forced entry into the residence. Through the investigation, some of the missing items were located in an adjacent apartment. The incident is under investigation.

Over the past 72 hours, 5 burglaries of residences were reported, along with 1 burglary of a vehicle and 6 thefts.

From February 22nd to February 25th, 2013, Paris Police responded to 286 calls for service and arrested 23 persons.
