Police investigate shots fired outside private club at 2 a.m. closing time on Northwest Seventh Street

Shots were fired at closing time outside a private club in northwest Paris.

Police reported 70 calls for service on Monday. Six were theft calls, one was a reported burglary of a business, one was a reported burglary of an automobile, and wasa reported theft of an automobile.

Club Ice, located at the northwest corner of Northwest Seventh and Shiloh, was closing at 2 a.m. Sunday when two women got into a fight and were escorted out of the club by security, officials told the Paris Police Department.

While the security officer was walking back into the club, he told police, he heard about five gun shots fired by two people with semi-automatic rifle.

The security officer said one individual fired into the ground, and the other into the air. He said both individuals, who he believed to be from out of town, then left the scene, he added.

No injuries were reported, and there was no known property damage.

Officer Curtis Garrett, information officer for the Paris Police Department, said the Criminal Investigation Division was called to the scene, and investigation was continuing.

  • Officers responded to a call in the 10 block of Southeast 19th Street, where officials of Suddenlink Cable reported that unknown suspects had forced their way into a warehouse inside a fenced area. Numerous items were reported taken from the building.
  • An arrest was reported in connection with a Dec. 19 robbery of a Valero convenience store, where a suspect produced a knife and demanded money from a clerk. Leshun Cantrell Patterson, 26, of 222 2tth St. NW in Paris was arrested on a warrant for aggravated robbery.
