Paris police arrested 15 people over the weekend, including two men whose misdemeanor charges were enhanced to felonies because of at least two prior convictions for the same offense.

  • Felix Earl McEilester, 48, of 130 12th St. NE was arrested for driving while intoxicated after he was stopped for having a defective tail light and was found by officers to be intoxicated.
  • Jerry Lynn Young, 51, of 908 12th St. SE was arrested when he was observed placing a can of beer inside his pants and leaving a store in the 900 block of Clarksville Street.

Among the arrests, 12 were arrested on Class C misdemeanors warrants, 1 for fleeing from a police officer, one for DWI, and two for emergency detentions. Another person was picked up on juvenile charges.

Over the Friday – Sunday weekend, police officers responded to two burglaries of residences, two burglaries of vehicles, three thefts, one disturbance, and one assault.
