Over the weekend, October 19-21, the Paris Police Department answered 343 calls for service while making 23 arrests. Only two of these arrests involved felony charges, most were misdemeanor warrants or on view misdemeanor offenses such as theft, public intoxication or assault.
James Lee Dillard, 42, was arrested on a felony theft warrant issued from a case being investigated by the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office.
Mark Anthony Somers, 28, was arrested on three warrants regarding a family disturbance that was reported to Police on October 9. Somers was alleged to have assault his wife, before locking her out of the house while she was attempting to bathe two children, ages 2 and 10 months old.
Somers had fled the scene prior to officers arrival and could not be located at that time. Somers was charged with a felony charge of abandoning/endangering children, assault and criminal mischief.
