Lamar County Jail gets exceptional rating on annual inspection

On September 17, 2012 the Texas Jail Commission on an unannounced annual inspection to the Lamar County Jail; passed the Lamar County Jail for the 20th year with an exceptional rating.  The Lamar County Jail is in full compliance; meeting all criteria set forth from the Texas Jail Commission with no deficiencies noted.  The Texas Jail Commission Inspector verified and certified all operations of the Lamar County Jail below are a partial list of those areas:

  • Ø Records /Procedures
  • Ø Kitchen management and Food Service
  • Ø Safety and Security
  • Ø Life Safety- Fire and Smoke Drills
  • Ø Health Services
  • Ø Inmate Grievances
  • Ø Detention Officer Certifications
  • Ø Cleanliness of the Jail
  • Ø Admission/Release

Chief Jailer Stacy Fults, and her staff are to be commended for the continued excellent operation of the jail.  This 20th year inspection and certification on the Lamar County Jail continues to show the excellence that the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office strives to provide in the utmost professionalism, integrity, safety and security in the service to the citizens of Lamar County.
