Officers with the Paris Police Department arrested five on Thursday in reference to a theft.  Because this theft involved more than three persons, they were all charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, which is a Class A Misdemeanor, according to Public Information Officer, Curtis Garrett.

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of E. Austin Street on Thursday regarding a theft that had just occurred.  The victim at the scene was able to give police a description of a suspect vehicle that had fled the scene prior to their arrival.

According to Officer Garrett, police located the vehicle at a local pawn shop, and upon further investigation, discovered that these subjects had entered a yard on E. Austin Street and taken a bicycle and a Skill saw.

Arrested were 25-year-old Kimberly Layton, 45-year-old John David McCool, 17-year-old Michael Lee Doan, and 24-year-old Anthony Bo Moreno, all of Paris, for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
