• On August 08th, Lamar County Deputies responded to a shooting in the North East part of Lamar County near the Arthur City area.
• Lamar County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call sometime around 2:30pm after a female subject approached a work crew off of a Lamar County road in the Arthur City area stating that she had shot her husband at their residence and needed help.
• Lamar County Deputies found one male subject inside a residence with gunshot wounds to the upper part of the body and deceased.
• The decedent was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace, Tim Risinger and sent for autopsy.
• Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office along with Texas Ranger, Stacy McNeal is investigating this as a homicide at this time. The investigation is in the early stages and continuing. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Murder from the Lamar County Attorney’s Office for the female suspect and she is presently incarcerated in the Lamar County Jail pending arraignment.
• The female shooter is identified as Kathleen Erskine, w/f DOB 11-11-1971 and the decedent identification is being withheld pending family notification.
