Man arrested for assault with a deadly weapon

At about 1:20pm on Monday afternoon, Paris police responded to a shooting call in the 700 block of NE 11th St, according to Paris Police Department Information Officer, Curtis Garrett.

Officers were informed by victims at the scene that during a family disturbance, 23-year-old Jarvis Fisher assaulted his wife and produced a handgun — pointing it at several victims while sitting in their car, before firing the gun into the air.

Police arrested Fisher and charged him with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Over the past 24 hours, 5 people were arrested in the City of Paris on the following charges: one for public intoxication, two for assault, one for Motion to Revoke Burglary of a Building, and one for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Officers responded to 115 calls for service on Monday, July 30, 2012.
