Police investigate burglary

Police were advised on Monday that a business in the 3000 block of Clarksville Street was burglarized, according to Paris Police Department Information Officer, Curtis Garrett.  The business owner informed police that he had noticed that the door had been damaged and a television was missing from the office area.  The incident is under investigation.  If you have any information on this crime, please contact the Paris Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (903) 785-TIPS.

Just after 9pm on July 9, 2012, an assault was reported to Paris Police in the 1000 block of SE 16th Street.  A victim complained that an unknown person had struck them in the hand with a baseball bat but then refused to any further details, according to Officer Garrett.  This incident is also under investigation.

On July 9, 2012, the Paris PD responded to 101 calls for service.  Six people were arrested in the City of Paris and the following charges were filed: 2 for Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, 1 on a warrant for Harassment, 2 for out of County warrants, 1 for simple assault, and 2 for Emergency Detention.
