During the past 72 hour period, 24 arrests were made, 6 for traffic warrants, 5 for theft, 1 for possession of a controlled substance, 4 for possession of marijuana, 1 for assault impeding breathing and unlawful restraint, 1 for disorderly conduct fighting, 3 for public intoxication, 1 for driving while intoxicated and 1 for a warrant for unauthorized use motor vehicle.
Officers responded Sunday to the 1300 block of E. Price Street and met with a man who said he and his father had been assaulted. He said he was at his home when he was approached by several known subjects who had gotten out of their vehicles.
The man said he saw that one of the men was carrying a metal pipe. He said he was assaulted with the pipe first and then assaulted by all of the suspects.
He said his father was also assaulted when he came to his aid. Both sought medical treatment at the emergency room at PRMC South. The incident is under investigation.
On Saturday, officers responded to a shots fired call at 230 Pine Bluff St. While responding, dispatch received a second call from a subject advising that he had been shot at that location but was now a few blocks away.
Officers made contact with the victim who advised that he had been shot in the leg. The victim advised that he was outside Madea’s Lounge when he heard gunshots and ran from the area. He later discovered that he had been shot. The incident is under investigation.
At 2:41a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 100 block of Price Circle where a victim reported that she had been sexually assaulted by her boyfriend. Officers located the suspect asleep inside the victim’s residence and he was placed under arrest. Arrested was 35 year old Odis Farrar. He was charged with assault/family violence/impede breathing and unlawful restraint.
As of this time, there are no further developments in the homicide case that was reported on Saturday.
