One injured after truck crashes into building

Wreck_Collegiate-Lamar_03A truck crashed into the building that houses On-Call Home Health, Paris Glam, Super Tan and other businesses on N. Collegiate today between 12-1 p.m., after leaving the roadway and hitting two parked cars.

At the time of the wreck, emergency personnel at the scene said that it was unclear what had caused the wreck, and the person who was driving the truck was the only one injured.

There were no occupants in the two parked cars that were hit before the truck crashed into the building.

The driver was flown to a hospital in the metroplex by an EagleMed helicopter.

The truck that hit the building was a dark green, Chevrolet Colorado. All three vehicles were towed from the scene shortly after the accident occurred.

Traffic traveling on Lamar and Collegiate had to be redirected to circumvent the wreck by firefighters and police officers, which caused a delay at the busy intersection.

A police officer at the scene said that a detailed report would be issued by the department’s spokesperson at a later time. More to follow.
