Large fire at PJ Trailers results in the death of one worker
Area firefighters, including the Paris Fire Department, responded to a major fire in Tigertown earlier today that has resulted in the death of one worker.
Early reports are that PJ Trailer manufacturing company sustained major damage from the blaze. According to sources, a contract-worker was killed by an explosion during the fire.
While on the scene, the president of the company told eParisExtra that a statement would be released once the fire could be contained. Firefighters were called to the scene between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., where they spent several hours battling the fire.
According to a witness, smoke from the fire could be seen from North Main Street in Paris. Tigertown is about 15-20 miles from town.
Investigation into the fire will begin by local, state and federal officials. More to follow.
