Fire at Quality Inn damages six units
The Paris Fire Department responded to a structure fire located at Quality Inn Paris Saturday around 10 p.m., resulting in the closure of the motel.
Fire units arrived and found the mechanical/electrical room well involved with fire, which led to the heavy damage of 6 units out of the 62.
Due to the extent of this fire damage, the motel will be out of business until all repairs can be completed, fire department officials said.
Police, Fire and EMS units were on scene for approximately four hours, with one firefighter receiving minor burns to his hand during firefighting efforts to extinguish the fire. The firefighter was treated at the hospital and released to return to work, officials said.
There was no report of any occupants receiving any type of injury during the fire.
There were eight units occupied at the time of the blaze. Firefighters helped occupants gather all of their personal items, while the owner of the motel was able to help relocate them to another hotel.
The exact cause of the fire is undetermined but is under investigation at this time, authorities said.
