Man Charged with Impersonating a Public Servant and Assault
Paris Police responded to a disturbance call in the 1800 block of Bonham St at about 12:30 P.M. on July 4, 2014.
Officers were advised by the victim that the incident occurred due to road rage. The victim stated that the driver of a van cut him off and nearly struck his vehicle so he threw a glass of ice at the suspects vehicle.
It was reported that 40 year old Jeremy Tuley of Paris became enraged when the victim threw the glass of ice at his vehicle.
Allegedly, Tuley then stopped behind the victim’s vehicle at a traffic light and ran to the vehicle and pulled the driver from the vehicle and began assaulting him.
During the altercation, Tuley stated that he was a law enforcement officer. Tuley then returned to his vehicle and followed the victim to a parking lot and then allegedly assaulted the victim again.
Tuley left the scene before officers arrived but was stopped a short distance away.
Tuley was arrested and charged with impersonating a public servant, and assault. Tuley was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
