After receiving a tip of an individual trafficking methamphetamine on Tuesday, detectives with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office and Paris Police Department performed a search of a residence in Sun Valley, resulting in the arrest of one woman, according to Lamar County Sheriff Scott Cass.

The woman arrested — 34-year-old Amber Dean Kenyon — was a subject in an ongoing narcotic investigation.

Detectives found her to be in possession of over 80 grams of methamphetamine, as well as scales and packaging materials used to sell the drugs, authorities said.

Kenyon has been charged with manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance (penalty group 1, over 4 grams under 200 grams). She is currently being held at the Lamar County jail awaiting arraignment.

“This narcotic investigation resulted in an arrest and the seizure of a large amount of narcotics, taking them off the streets and out of our communities,” Sheriff Cass said. “Street value of this drug seizure is estimated at approximately $8000.00 dollars.”
