Someone kicked in her hotel room door and stole her casino winnings, woman tells Paris police
A woman complained that she returned to her Paris motel room late Monday night and discovered that someone had kicked in the door to her room and taken her casino winnings.
The woman said she had won more than $1,000 Monday at the Choctaw Casino in Grant, Okla., and drove to her motel room in the 400 block of Northeast 35th Street in Paris to secure most of the money to keep from spending it.
She said she then drove back to the casino, but when she returned to her motel room in Paris shortly after midnight she found her door kicked in and the money gone, police department spokesman Curtis Garrett said.
About 4 p.m. Monday, Paris police officers had responded to a reported burglary in the 500 block of Southwest 25th Street. Occupants of the home told officers e returned home from work to discover that someone had entered their home an stolen several pieces of money and a large sum of money.
The loss in this burglary was estimated to be more than $10,000, Garrett said.
Paris police officer responded to 112 calls on Monday, resulting in 10 arrests, Garrett said.
