U.S. Postal Service reports gasoline stolen from postal vehicles
Sometime between 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday and 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, the chain link fence on the south side of the U.S. post office at the intersection of Clarksville Street and Sixth Street was cut, Paris police department spokesman Curtis Garrett said.
Approximately 84 gallons of gasoline was drained from postal vans that were on the parking lot.
The theft and criminal mischief was an estimated loss of more than $1,000, and the incident is under investigation, Garrett said.
Paris Police responded Thursday to 112 calls, resulting in the arrests of 21 individuals, Garrett said.
