Man arrested in connection with house burglary south of Paris
A 42-year-old man was taken into custody Tuesday night in connection with the burglary of a residence in the View Point community south of Paris.
The Lamar County Sheriff’s Department notified the Paris Police Department about 3 p.m. Tuesday with information about the burglary suspect and the vehicle he was believed to be in, police department spokesman Curtis Garrett said.
The information was disseminated to patrol officers, and about 10:45 p.m., a police officer saw the vehicle at a fast food restaurant in Paris and a man sitting inside who matched the description, Garrett said.
Officers later detained the subject and identified him as Loren Dean Jenkins, who is shown in sheriff’s department records as living on County Road 13685.
“Lamar County sheriff’s investigators were notified and Jenkins confessed to the reported burglary,” Garrett said.
Jenkins was booked into the Lamar County Jail.
