Routine Traffic Stop leads to Drug Arrests
At about 5:03 P.M on February 28, 2014, Officer Josh Crawford of the Paris Police Department stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Pine Bluff St. and arrested the driver, 29 year old Kenneth James Roberts, for a license plate violation. Also located in the vehicle was 28 year old Jessica Lynn Sulsar of Paris and 25 year old John Lynn Smith of Paris.
During the investory of the vehicle, officers found numerous packages of synthetic marijuana. Narcotics officers arrived and received consent to search the drivers room in the 1900 block of Lamar Ave. Inside the room, more synthetic marijuana was located along with numerous pills of various brands.
All three were arrested and charged with manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance (synthetic marijuana), 4 counts of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance (the various pills) and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
