Paris police investigate reports of stolen vehicles
Someone picked on the wrong vehicle to steal Monday afternoon in Paris.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday, Paris Police responded to the 800 block of Northwest27th Street, where an individual told officers he was visiting a friend and when he walked back outside, the vehicle was missing, police department spokesman Curtis Garrett said.
That’s the bad news.
The good news is, the car lot that the vehicle was being purchased from had a tracking device in the vehicle. The vehicle was stopped in Oklahoma and was found to have three subjects inside.
Another investigation continues after a four-wheeler was stolen from a business in the 2000 block of Northwest Loop 286 on Friday.
One or more persons reportedly their way into the business and took several items, Garrett said.
Officers were told that the four-wheeler was driven from the business to another location and loaded it into a vehicle.
Garrett said both incidents remain under investigation.
Over the holiday weekend from Friday through Monday, Paris police responded to 378 calls, resulting in 21 arrests.
