Crime Stoppers Logo. 300 dpiThe public’s help is sought in solving the Lamar County Crime Stoppers’ crime of the week, says Paris police officer Curtis Garrett, local Crime Stoppers coordinator.

Two women living in the East Post Oak community northeast of Blossom told the Lamar County sheriff’s office that about 11 a.m. Thursday, as they arrived at their residence and walked up to the front door, a man came up behind them.

He brandished a knife and took their money, they said.

They said the man left on foot, heading east on County Road 44800, which leads to County Road 1502, approximately one-fourth mile east of the women’s residence.

They described their assailant as a light-skinned black or Hispanic male, about six feet tall and muscular, with short black hair, and tattoos on his neck and arms. They said he was wearing an orange shirt and dark pants.

Another person reported seeing a black male earlier Thursday morning, on County Road 1502 just off Highway 82, riding a bicycle in the direction of the East Post Oak Community.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect or person on the bicycle is asked to contact the Lamar County Crime Stoppers.

If the information leads  to the arrest and/or indictment of the person responsible, the person providing the information could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 and will remain anonymous.
