Tree limb in roadway results in accident on NE Loop 286
An accident occurred Tuesday morning in the 2800 block of Paris’ northeast loop, near the flea market, when an 85-year-old Oklahoma woman stopped and was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by a 22-year-old Paris woman.
Curtis Garrett, spokesman for the Paris Police Department, said the first car — A 2007 Jeep Cherokee — stopped because of a large tree limb obstructing the lane, and the driver of a 2008 Ford F350 pickup was unable to stop in time to avoid the accident.
The 85-year-old woman from Clayton, Okla., and her 88-year-old passenger were transported to Paris Regional Medical Center, where they were treated for minor injuries and released, Garrett said.
The driver of the pickup was taken to the same hospital by a private vehicle and also was treated and released, Garrett said.
